저희 한카시니어협회는 2025년 7월 31일, 제10대 회장 선거에서 . 김원미(가운데) 신임 회장은 제8·9대 임원으로 활동하며 시니어 복지와 교육 프로그램을 적극 이끌어온 경험을 바탕으로, 앞으로도 협회의 성장을 위해 최선을 다할 예정입니다.
특히 시니어 교육 프로그램인 ‘열린학당’의 창립 및 안정적 운영을 주도하며, 협회의 핵심 가치인 배움과 사회참여 활성화를 실현한 대표 인물로 평가받고 있다. 기존 ‘실버아카데미’가 참여 저조로 어려움을 겪던 상황에서 프로그램명을 ‘열린학당’으로 바꾸고 운영 방식 전환을 통해 현재 회원 수 80여 명으로 성장시켰다. 매 학기 종강식, 수료식, 공연 프로그램 등이 꾸준히 개최되며 협회 내부는 물론 지역사회에서도 긍정적인 평가를 받고 있다. 한카시니어협회는 앞으로도 지역 한인 시니어들의 복지 증진과 권익 향상을 위한 책임 있는 리더십 아래 지속적인 성장을 도모할 계획입니다.

The HANCA Seniors Association announced that Wonmi Kim (center) was elected as the 10th President in the election held on July 31, 2025.
President Kim previously served as an executive member during the 8th and 9th administrations and has played a key role in advancing HANCA’s senior welfare and education programs. With her extensive experience, she plans to continue strengthening the organization’s growth and service to Toronto’s senior community.
President Kim is widely recognized for founding and successfully operating “Senior Day Program,” a cornerstone program promoting HANCA’s core values of lifelong learning and community engagement. Under her leadership, the program transitioned from the struggling “Silver Academy” to a new participatory model, resulting in membership growth to over 80 seniors.
Each semester now features graduation ceremonies, performances, and closing events, which have received highly positive feedback both within the association and from the broader community.
President Kim stated, “HANCA will continue to grow as a space for learning, connection, and empowerment for Korean-Canadian seniors. I will do my best to lead this organization with transparency and compassion.”
Under this renewed leadership, HANCA aims to further enhance the well-being and rights of Korean-Canadian seniors, while strengthening its community role through responsible governance and sustained growth.
